VCF Femenino return against Deportivo Abanca

The Sunday game is their first fixture since January 6th.

VCF Femenino return to the Antonio Puchades on Sunday, taking on Deportivo Abanca in the latest fixture of the Primera Iberdrola season.

The team come into Matchday 16 in 10th place in the table, with 17 points to their name from 14 games played. They have had over a fortnight out of action, with their most recent contest having been the 2-3 derby loss at home to Levante UD on January 6th.

Deportivo Abanca are one of the bottom sides in the division, with 7 points accrued from their 13 games. They last played on January 5th, losing 4-1 to UD Granadilla Tenerife Egatesa on the road.

Despite the difference in positions in the standings, José Barrgues' side are aware of the danger the Galician team will pose, and are ready for action in the 10:15am Sunday kickoff.

Ahead of the game, VCF Femenino assistant coach Andrea Esteban said: “We have a group in which we can trust in the maximum number of players, and this means that everybody steps things up a level."
